COMMENT: I found this data quite interesting.  The total number of births dropped from 1991 to 2008, but the number of non-hospital births increased by more than five times!  That tells me that Canadian women are leaning more and more towards birthing outside of the hospital!!!


Cesarean sections - I have not been able to locate any statistics on C-section rates in Canada as of yet.

COMMENT: Why is this procedure occurring twice as often as it should be in America?  Why did the frequency of the practice of this procedure quadruple in just over 30 years?
